From an IBM Ireland employee
The EMEA Customer Service Centre in Dublin is the next to 'move' to India. 120 CSR's replaced by Indian personal working for a mere 177 Euro a month. Most of the 3rd level groups are also now working from India. And Desk Side support staff numbers were cut by 40% a few months back. The remaining staff are on 1 year rolling contracts with no pension or benefits. This gives no job security, no incentive to stay with IBM, and makes it impossible to get a mortgage.
This is so unfair and unwarranted since the CSC is achieving 90% + Customer satisfaction ratings regularly. Most of my team have had no pay increase for 3 years, and this is in a country with high inflation with huge increases in the cost of living!
Sam seems to have forgotten that IBM was built on the dedication, enthusiasm and hard work of it's employees. IBM is now only interested in profit, and cares little for it's employees or customers. In the long term, this will harm IBM. Sam, if you l! istening, wake up and smell the coffee....you are only hurting IBM
